Everyone wants the "magic pill" that will help them to quickly and easily lose weight. The less effort and pain involved the better, right?
Well, what if you were so fed up with being overweight that you were willing to do anything - and I mean anything - in order to finally lose the weight?
If that describes you, then this list of 5 ridiculous ways to lose weight should be right your your alley!
1) Exercise immediately after you eat
When all else fails, bust out the laws of physics! Whenever you eat, you take in calories. Whenever you exercise, you expend calories.
If you immediately exercise after each meal - thereby expending the calories that you just took in - there is no physical way possible that the food will end up stored as bodyfat.
The calories from that food cannot possibly be stored as bodyfat if you exercise them off directly after you ingest them.
Once again referring to the laws of physics; there is only so much room available in your stomach at any given time. If you fill that room with liquid, you will not be able to eat as much.
Water also lubricates the entire spectrum of metabolic processes in your body - including those that help you to burn fat - so you are actually helping yourself lose weight in several ways by taking in plenty of water.
While you are eating, take a drink of water after every single bite of food that you put into your mouth. Not only will that aid in rapid digestion, but it will also keep your stomach full of fluid, making you feel more full so that you won't eat as much.
Here is a tip that seems like a no-brainer, but no one ever does it! If you want to lose weight, then by simply eating foods that you don't like, you will eat much smaller portion sizes.
Ironically enough, most of the foods that people don't like have a lot of nutritional value, so not only will you be losing weight, but you'll be making yourself more healthy at the same time.
Can you even imagine not losing weight if your plate was always covered with things like liver, lima beans, brussel sprouts, sauerkraut, and blood sausage? Ugh! I lost some weight just writing this paragraph!
Do you have a job that requires you to be on the phone for an hour or more every day? Can you imagine the radical amount of calories that you would burn if you stood up and walked or jogged in place every single time you were on the phone?
Okay, jogging in place might be a bit hard if you were actually participating in the phone call, but what about conference calls or online webinars when you are just watching or listening, but not participating?
As an added bonus, the constant movement will keep you alert and keep your metabolism cranked up, as opposed to the mental and physical funk that we all tend to fall into after we have been sitting down for too long.
By now it is a foregone conclusion that eating 5 to 6 smalls meals each day is an effective way to keep your body burning through calories, and to keep any food that you eat from getting stored as bodyfat.
The concept that powers that fact can be broken down into "micro" levels, as well. If breaking up 1,500 calories into 5 meals of 300 calories each is a good idea, then breaking up those same calories into 10 meals of 150 calories is even better.
In fact, it is very likely that you would get so sick of having to find ways of ingesting only 150 calories that you would probably miss a few "meals," thus dropping your total caloric intake even further. As long as you don't drop below a safe level of total caloric intake, this method will increase the effectiveness of the standard 5 to 6 meals per day concept.

Goal SettingDo these ridiculous ways to lose weight seem so totally insane that no one in their right mind would actually do them? Well, that may be so, but considering the fact that the world is on track for 75% of the population to be overweight by the year 2015, maybe it's time we started thinking outside of the box?

1Along the same lines as the “jog in place while on the phone”, what about jog in place, do jumping jacks, etc. every time a commercial comes on the TV.

2Scott,
That’s a great suggestion. I guess I didn’t think of it because I hardly ever watch TV. See, it’s great to have more than one person think of this stuff!

3Yeah Sure! Right after eating, as soon as you, leave the table. Go start exercising immediately. Then throw-up, all over yourself, when the blood inside your, body is sent out to your limbs, heart & lungs. Very Good Advice, for those of us, who enjoy puking our guts out everyday. Even in the Army, at boot camp. You, run first, then go to breakfast. Just another Goofball idea, for somebody to try. Then get sick, doing it. Real Smart Move!

4R.W.,
I know, I spent 6 years in the Army!
As I said, these are ridiculous ideas, but they would be effective if anyone used them. Besides, although I did not spell it out in the post, the idea would be to at least let your food settle before you started doing any strenuous exercise. It takes the body awhile to process something out of the bloodstream and then store it as bodyfat.
In addition, no one said these needed to be marathon exercises sessions. A 30 minute brisk walk after every meal would probably be more than sufficient to burn up the calories consumed during that meal.
Believe me, I’ve tried to exercise intensely after a big meal - it doesn’t work!

5A litre of water before every meal? And more during? a LITRE?!?! That’s 12 cups of water, plus what you drink during your meals and at other times. I have better things to do than stand in front of a urinal all day. Maybe try having a glass (8/12/16oz) before every meal.

8To most of the commentors, the idea here is to think out of the box and then DO something different try a little of this and a little of that.
The DO being the operative word here.
If you can’t drink a litre of water during a meal ( and for many of us this might not work for reasons related to diluting your hydrochloric acid levels ) then see how a modification on this might work for you.
You have been shown “the why”, so get serious about your weight levels, your health and your longevity ( if even for your kids who won’t find it fun attending an early funeral ) and DO something.
So many of us are having hypertension, high blood pressure, Diabetes II at an early age now. We know its the nitrate laden, preservative laced, antibiotic driven, steroid saturated meats ( did I miss anything?) that we are being force fed at fine fast food restaurants - so something must be done - and like “taking a pee” this is a critical thing that no one else can do for you.
So, let’s be positive. For all of us change must come. And if it doesn’t you might not be around to see it.
