To most of the commentors, the idea here is to think out of the box and then DO something different try a little of this and a little of that.

The DO being the operative word here.

If you can't drink a litre of water during a meal ( and for many of us this might not work for reasons related to diluting your hydrochloric acid levels ) then see how a modification on this might work for you.

You have been shown "the why", so get serious about your weight levels, your health and your longevity ( if even for your kids who won't find it fun attending an early funeral ) and DO something.

So many of us are having hypertension, high blood pressure, Diabetes II at an early age now. We know its the nitrate laden, preservative laced, antibiotic driven, steroid saturated meats ( did I miss anything?) that we are being force fed at fine fast food restaurants - so something must be done - and like "taking a pee" this is a critical thing that no one else can do for you.

So, let's be positive. For all of us change must come. And if it doesn't you might not be around to see it.

A litre of water before every meal? And more during? a LITRE?!?! That's 12 cups of water, plus what you drink during your meals and at other times. I have better things to do than stand in front of a urinal all day. Maybe try having a glass (8/12/16oz) before every meal.

R.W.,

I know, I spent 6 years in the Army!

As I said, these are ridiculous ideas, but they would be effective if anyone used them. Besides, although I did not spell it out in the post, the idea would be to at least let your food settle before you started doing any strenuous exercise. It takes the body awhile to process something out of the bloodstream and then store it as bodyfat.

In addition, no one said these needed to be marathon exercises sessions. A 30 minute brisk walk after every meal would probably be more than sufficient to burn up the calories consumed during that meal.

Believe me, I've tried to exercise intensely after a big meal - it doesn't work! ;)

Yeah Sure! Right after eating, as soon as you, leave the table. Go start exercising immediately. Then throw-up, all over yourself, when the blood inside your, body is sent out to your limbs, heart & lungs. Very Good Advice, for those of us, who enjoy puking our guts out everyday. Even in the Army, at boot camp. You, run first, then go to breakfast. Just another Goofball idea, for somebody to try. Then get sick, doing it. Real Smart Move!

Scott,

That's a great suggestion. I guess I didn't think of it because I hardly ever watch TV. See, it's great to have more than one person think of this stuff! :)

Along the same lines as the "jog in place while on the phone", what about jog in place, do jumping jacks, etc. every time a commercial comes on the TV.
