Review of the Aurorae Yoga Mat

P90X One on One
Total Disclosure: This review of the Aurorae Yoga Mat is based on my personal use of this yoga mat, and is not compensated by the makers of the mat in any way. I am an affiliate of Amazon.com where you can purchase the Aurorae Yoga Mat, so if you see value in my review and choose to purchase a mat of your own, I do make a small sales commission.
When I first started the P90X Extreme Home Fitness Program (which I also highly recommend), I did not at first think that I was going to see the value in the Yoga routine that is part of the P90X program. I can admit when I am wrong, however, and Yoga has since become an integral part of my overall health and fitness program, and it has drastically improved the way that I look, feel, and perform.
However, it wasn’t until I started using the Aurorae Yoga Mat that I was able to focus and get 100% of the benefits of my yoga workouts, as I was previously using a substandard mat that did not provide the grip and comfort that the Aurorae Yoga mat does. Yoga is all about focus, concentration, and “staying in the moment,” so the last thing you want is to use a yoga mat that keeps you from getting the most out of your yoga sessions.
3 Benefits of the Aurorae Yoga Mat
Grip & Control
The first thing I liked about the Aurorae Yoga Mat was also the reason why I was excited to get it in the first place: Improved Grip. During the 40-plus minutes of Moving Asanas that are in my yoga routine, I am absolutely dripping with sweat, and it doesn’t take long before my feet and hands want to start sliding off the mat.
With the Aurorae Mat, I was able to dig my feet and my hands into the mat in order to maintain control over each movement, thus getting a lot more out of it. Yoga is hard enough without having to worry about slipping off your mat!
Focal Point
The Aurorae Yoga Mat includes a Focal Point at the top of the mat that gives you something to focus on during the yoga poses that have you facing downward during part of all of the pose. When it comes to balance, having one specific thing to look at is critical to keeping your balance, so the focal point at the top of the mat really helps keep you on track.
The focal point itself is a graphic of a person in downward dog, with a sun behind them.
Comfort
My yoga routine includes a balance workout, a flexibility workout, and an abdominal workout, all of which include exercises that are done partially or completely on the mat, and the Aurorae Yoga Mat is plenty comfortable for all of those movements.
At the end of the yoga routine that I do, the corpse pose is included, as well as happy baby, and also a side lying position. In all of those movements and positions, the mat is so comfortable that you could literally fall asleep right there on the floor.
Overall, I definitely recommend the Aurorae Yoga Mat to anyone who is serious about their Yoga routine, and wants to maximize the benefits of the time that they spend doing yoga.
